For my project I plan to create three sculptures that involve the Fibonacci spiral/The golden ratio which is what my whole project is based on. I hope to make these sculptures out of metal, wood, glass, and stone with relate back to earthy elements.

 

The first will be the Fibonacci tiling with the spiral inside of it. The spiral will be made out of curved wood and the squares out of metal. For this sculpture I might need to have it manufactured by someone else but I will be involved in the design process. This will be my main sculpture as it is the one that I hope to inspire other people with by joining art and math together.

 

For my second sculpture I plan to use glass and creating a cut nautilus shell which I hope to have stand on its own. This will have to be manufactured by a professional as I do not have the training to make it myself. I hope for this sculpture to show people the complicated designs of shells and the beauty that they have.

 

For my third project I plan to make a Celtic carving made from stone. This project can potentially be done by myself depending on how much time I have in the end. I hope that this can be a sculpture that people can relate to because of their Celtic backgrounds.
